Suburban Water Heater Igniter Electrode 525005
The Suburban 525005 Water Heater Igniter Electrode is the OEM replacement 2-prong electrode service kit used in Suburban SW Series direct spark ignition (DSI) RV water heaters. The electrode creates the spark needed to ignite the propane burner and also helps the ignition system verify that a flame has been established.
A worn, cracked, corroded, or improperly positioned electrode can cause no-spark conditions, delayed ignition, repeated ignition attempts, burner shutdown, or a water heater that will not stay lit.

Signs of a Bad Suburban Water Heater Electrode
Common symptoms include:
- Water heater does not spark
- Burner fails to ignite
- Repeated clicking or ignition attempts
- Burner lights but shuts off shortly afterward
- Intermittent ignition
- Visible cracking or damage to the ceramic insulator
- Corrosion or deterioration of the electrode probe

Potential Issues
