Description

Girard 2GWH-48 Pressure Relief Valve for GSWH-2 Tankless Water Heaters

The Girard 2GWH-48 Pressure Relief Valve is a replacement valve designed for the Girard GSWH-2 tankless RV water heater. This valve helps protect the water heater and plumbing system by releasing excess pressure when internal water pressure rises beyond the valve’s operating limit.

A worn, damaged or obstructed pressure relief valve may leak continuously, fail to seal properly or allow pressure to build inside the water heater. Replacing the valve can restore proper pressure control and help prevent leaks or damage to surrounding water-system components.

This is a model-specific Girard replacement part and is not a universal RV water heater pressure valve. Lippert identifies it as part 2GWH-48, SKU 2022107574.

Models It Fits

  • Girard GSWH-2 Tankless RV Water Heater

Girard part number: 2GWH-48
Lippert part number: 2022107574

Verify the water heater model and existing part number before ordering.

Signs You May Need This Part

  • Water continuously drips or leaks from the pressure relief valve

  • The valve does not reseal after releasing pressure

  • Water leaks around the valve connection

  • The valve is visibly cracked, corroded or physically damaged

  • The valve handle or internal mechanism is stuck

  • The water heater experiences recurring pressure-related leaks

  • Mineral deposits or debris are visible around the valve opening

  • The valve releases water under normal operating conditions

  • The valve fails a manual inspection or pressure test

  • The valve was damaged by freezing temperatures

Water leaking near the pressure relief valve may also be caused by a damaged O-ring, loose connection, excessive incoming water pressure or a problem with the adjoining pressure-relief connection. Girard offers the valve O-ring separately as part 2GWH-G48, so inspect the seal and surrounding fittings before replacing the complete valve.

Estimated Installation Time

Approximately 20 to 45 minutes.

Installation time may vary depending on water heater accessibility, mineral buildup, thread condition and whether the valve seal or adjoining connection also needs to be replaced. After installation, pressurize the water system and inspect the valve and surrounding connections for leaks.
