A relief valve that drips constantly, sticks or is corroded can no longer protect the tank. Replace it rather than plugging it.
Installation
Turn off the heater and water supply, relieve pressure, drain some water below the valve level, unscrew the old valve and thread in the new one with sealant facing the same direction.
